My group and I are going to be interviewing Gary, a Drag queen who works at Tongys. We’ll also be talking to the owner of Tongys along with a few of the queens that work there. We will be shooting in Gary’s apartment and also at Tongys. While we’re at Tongy’s we will also try to get some footage of the Drag Queen competition. For the interview, and for the entire movie, we are going to have a fun and lighthearted feel to it. There may also be some comedy since Gary is known for making some jokes and we may catch a few while we are filming. I’m actually pretty excited to go to Tongys and see what it’s like there. I really don’t know much about Drag Queens at all, but I can tell this will be an experience that I won’t forget.
We also have a few questions to ask Gary, which include:
- What is drag to you?
- How did you get into drag?
- How much of your time goes into drag?
- How do you balance your life and drag?
- Who inspired you the most to do drag?
- Do you think the community could be more straight forward in the sense of getting the word out that you all are here and ready to entertain?
- What is the meaning of drag family to you?
- Who are your favorite queens?
- What is the possibility of you making a career out of drag?
- What advice would you give to those who want to do drag?
I believe that the vox pop will occur at Gary’s apartment and the questions we plan on asking him are:
- Does your family approve of drag?
- Do you think anyone can do drag?
- Do you think drag will be more accepted in the future?
