I haven't had much experience in film, but I do hope to learn more about it. I also hope to put to practice all the methods and techniques of film I learned from FST 200 to use. I mainly want to learn more about the editing, production design and directing in Films, but I also want to learn about sound mixers.
This is mainly because I want to become a 2D and 3D animator, and learn how to make my own animations. I’ve already taken two 3D modeling classes on campus, and I have a general Idea on how Maya and Mudbox works, but I really want to learn how to rig characters as much as modeling them. But that’s something I have to learn on my own time.
One interesting thing about me is that I'm a quarter Jamaican. That little aspect of me may explain why I love the ocean.
Another interesting thing about me is that I like to draw a lot. That mostly obvious since I want to go into 2D animation. Over the summer I tried to improve my drawing skills a whole lot. I can say I've made some improvement, but it's still really hard to draw people. I've even made some animation sequences for a friend who was making a 2D fighting game.
It's not the best, but it was good practice.
One thing I hope to learn from this class is how to use Adobe Premier, I really want to learn the ins and out of most of the Adobe products, specifically Photoshop, Flash, After Effects, and Premier. Once I get a good grasp on these programs I hope to start making quality animations and posting them onto YouTube.
I really don’t expect for my career as an animator to shoot of quickly. I see it more as a gradual climb up to the top, with a lot of hazards, called life, getting in the way. But in the next 10 years or so I do hope to become an 2D/3D animator working at Rooster Teeth in Austin, Texas. You maybe asking yourself, why not work at Pixar or Dreamworks? They’re big and successful animation companies. I can’t really say why. I like the feel of Rooster Teeth and the community around them. I like the feel of Rooster Teeth and the community around them.I also love their shows. They're so much fun to watch and they also have such a good stories to tell. There first shows aren't the best of quality, but you can defiantly tell someone put their heart and souls into making those shows great.
Also in the next 10 years I see myself writing stories for TV shows, movies, comics, and video-games. For me, story is my main drive to watch shows and play video-games. If it doesn't have a good story than I’m not interested in the movie or game. That is why I'm also a Creative Writing major, I want to tell those stories and make even greater ones. One of my biggest dreams as a story writer is too create a massive universe with a lot of lore and story, something like Star-wars. I know that won't happen for a long time, but that's my end goal. I feel like most of my dreams are way too big and are unreachable, but it's not going to stop my for trying.
